Why We Built This Site
Florida keeps most jail and inmate information open to the public, but openness does not make it easy to use. The hard part in Gulf County is figuring out who holds the person you are looking for. The county sheriff runs the local jail in Port St. Joe and handles pretrial and short-sentence inmates, mostly through a mobile app rather than a web roster. The Florida Department of Corrections runs a separate statewide locator for sentenced prisoners, including the two state prisons in Wewahitchka. Federal and immigration detainees show up in yet another set of national systems. We built this site to pull those rosters, locators, contacts, visitation details, and records-request steps together so a search starts in the right place.
What You Will Find Here
Each page focuses on one part of the search and links to the official source behind it.
- Help looking up an inmate, with guides to jail inmate records, jail roster mugshots, and court records after a jail arrest.
- A page for each detention facility in Gulf County, covering the address, phone, and how visiting works.
- Step-by-step help for the sheriff's booking app and the statewide Florida inmate locator.
- Plain instructions for requesting a booking record or mugshot and what to expect from the office that holds it.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any Florida sheriff's office, jail, corrections department, or other government agency, and it cannot act on a case in any way.
- We cannot release, hold, or transfer anyone in custody.
- We cannot post bond, book a visit, or send money for you.
- We cannot give legal advice.
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or address stays current.
Only the sheriff's office or the corrections department can confirm a person's current custody, charges, or release. This site can point you to the right roster, but the official answer always comes from them.
Search Partners
Some pages include search boxes powered by third-party providers that set their own prices and run their own results. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee, which is what keeps it free to use. We do not control those providers' pricing or what their searches return, and using them is always optional.
